Have to set up Legacy contacts every time I get a new iPhone?

I had this set up on my last phone and now I have to do it again.

MacBook Pro (M1, 2020)

Yes, you do, because you may want another phone that doesn’t have a legacy contact. So it doesn’t automatically transfer to a new phone.

Thanks for the response, Lawrence. I would think you would just remove it if you no longer want it. Seems to me it should transfer and be saved in iCloud just like everything else.
