Will my contacts still be on my phone even with a new Apple ID

I got an iPhone 15 and I want to use my previous iPhone 13 as a work phone. If I create a new Apple ID on my old phone, will my contacts still be there?

Yes they will as long as when you sign in with the new ID you tell it not to erase your contact information.

Is there a reason for creating a new ID? You are much, much better off using the old ID on both devices. Apple deliberately designs things that way.

You can have multiple Apple Accounts (IDs), but you really should only do it if you have a particular need for it. For example, different personas for completly unrelated purposes such as one for a business and one for personal use. Remember, you can't transfer purchase ownership from one to another. Mobile devices aren't set up for multiple ID use, making it cumbersome to swap between IDs, and on a Mac you need to use separate user accounts.

"How many Apple IDs do I need?

Just one. Use the same Apple ID everywhere you sign in to ensure that all your Apple services and devices work together seamlessly and you can access your personal content from all your devices."
