Logic Pro starts playback out of sync when using MIDI synth

Running updated Logic Pro X 10.7.9 on MacBook Pro 14.0.

When I hit playback and scroll around through the project, the playback at first is out of sync, but it does eventually correct itself after getting 3-5 seconds into playback. For context, my track has a rhythmic bass synth with a good amount of plugins on it, and it's quite obvious when it gets out of sync with the rest of the track. I notice when editing adding or disabling plugins on this track, everything gets thrown off as well.

I think this is an issue with plug-in compensation or midi chasing, and both of which are turned on in my project.

I've also adjusted multi-threading options, process buffer size, and i/o buffer size to the largest and smallest possible options and none of those affected the issue.

It's not the end of the world, but it is a frustrating pain point in my workflow for when I'm jumping around quickly between sections and want playback to remain consistent! It seems to correct itself when the track reaches the next midi notes on the bass synth or after I pause and start again. So as long as a I start playback from a pause and/or at the beginning of a section, it works ok.

Shrugs. Any help appreciated!
