I have a 2020 MacBook Air and the battery runs down after 4 hours. Should I replace the battery even though the diagnostic on the settings page says it is normal?
You probably just need to do a few things to extend battery run time: Batteries - Maximizing Performance - Apple
If its remaining capacity is 80% or less (you gave no details) it should be replaced regardless of age if you want to maintain peak performance.
More than likely you have some software issue. Run the third party app EtreCheck and post the report here so we can examine it for clues.
FYI, you can also Option-click the battery icon on the menu bar to check the battery's condition. Unfortunately if the condition is "Normal", nothing is displayed at all. If the battery has a problem, then the battery condition will be shown as "Service Recommended". You can also check the battery condition in the Battery System Settings.
