I want to get rid of a line in the message.

Mail,

New Message,

Address,

gives you choppy to your self.

Looking at the square at the top line, taking away all fields, notting is marked on the lines.

When filling in the address, the choppy line fills in with your own address.

I want to get rid of this line.

"choppy"? Do you mean "copy"?

Is Mail sending a copy of each message to your own address?

Try Mail->Settings->Composing, and UNcheck the box next to "Automatically CC: yourself".

Just to make sure I am following the situation correctly:

1) You create a new e-mail, start filling the address, and cc: automatically gets filled with your own address:

2) You DON'T have this box checked in the Settings window:

3) Checking this box and unchecking it does not fix it.

Does this describe the situation accurately?

Normally, I'd suggest deleting the application's preferences but I have been experimenting and it does not seem that this setting is stored in the expected place, so I hesitate to give that advice.
