RAT remote access

Rat, I have seen the comments about how the email for RAT is just a scam, but I beg to differ as I am experiencing first hand the havoc it’s causing in my phone. It literally takes over and bounces my pages around. I’ll click on one thing and it will take me to something else. Had it at Apple today and other than resetting which I already did, there’s nothing they can do. Think I’ll have to get a new phone # as that’s how they’re accessing it now. Is there anyone that has any luck removing it? Since it has my phone number, I’m thinking that’s the only way 😢

Yep those RAT emails are a scam. Feel free to post screen shot or embedded YouTube link here showing the issues you are having. What else did Apple say when you visited them. If you experienced the same behavior after a factory reset, they would have suggested a Hardware Diagnostic or at least a repair estimate. I have never seen them turn away a customer and say there is nothing they can do unless the device is jailbroken or has had unauthorized repairs.. I have seen the ghost touch behavior on a cracked screen and that is common, but Apple would have suggested a screen replacement.

I beg to differ. I bought this phone new last year and have apple icare so no need to take it to second hand repair shop.

My Windows lap top got infected and synced to my iPhone, took over my FB and Instagram, I’m trying to delete the password in FB associated with this virus and won’t let me.

Changed all my passwords, I would be sceptical if it wasn’t happening to me. But believe me it’s real.

More and more people are having issues. I am one of them. Just know that you are not alone in this miserable experience of getting hacked and your accounts being taken over. I have found other postings on this forum of people getting hacked/attacked but since they are not all listed under one category or group they are hard to find.

Factory resets and factory restores do not remove the malware or malicious code or whatever it is. Changing your phone number and getting new devices don’t help either. Those who believe Apple products can’t get taken over by a hacker, malware, etc are giving their personal opinions which are not based on fact. Start reading up on the following words in your search: cybersecurity, iOS vulnerabilities, zero day exploits, iOS security patches, hardware security keys, etc. With what I have experienced, I’m confident that many people’s devices are infected and /or the home networks compromised but they just don’t know it yet.

They did a hardware diagnostic, but came clean, it literally says in the email they can remove it and access it later. They have my phone number because the email was sent right from my email, and even without the email they can use it to access my social accounts and web pages.

Renewed my norton virus protector from Norton on my phone and it ended up to be bocus, as it jumped to a fake site, so had to cancel my credit card I used.

Even Apple suggested I contact authorities, but don’t know what they can do.

Unless this is happening to you, you have no idea.

I found this in my iPhone’s log while messing around. Any ideas? Is this just something to do with my carrier or connection or something nasty.

iPhone logs and analytics are not designed to provide any useful information to the end user. They require special training and software to properly interpret. And "RAT" can stand for a number of different things, not all of them nefarious. Your phone is fine.
