RAT remote access

What you're describing sounds like 1) a website that's forcing you to open other pages or 2) a failing touch screen.

There are no viruses for iPhones. No one can remotely control your phone.

Yep those RAT emails are a scam. Feel free to post screen shot or embedded YouTube link here showing the issues you are having. What else did Apple say when you visited them. If you experienced the same behavior after a factory reset, they would have suggested a Hardware Diagnostic or at least a repair estimate. I have never seen them turn away a customer and say there is nothing they can do unless the device is jailbroken or has had unauthorized repairs.. I have seen the ghost touch behavior on a cracked screen and that is common, but Apple would have suggested a screen replacement.

More and more people are having issues. I am one of them. Just know that you are not alone in this miserable experience of getting hacked and your accounts being taken over. I have found other postings on this forum of people getting hacked/attacked but since they are not all listed under one category or group they are hard to find.

Factory resets and factory restores do not remove the malware or malicious code or whatever it is. Changing your phone number and getting new devices don’t help either. Those who believe Apple products can’t get taken over by a hacker, malware, etc are giving their personal opinions which are not based on fact. Start reading up on the following words in your search: cybersecurity, iOS vulnerabilities, zero day exploits, iOS security patches, hardware security keys, etc. With what I have experienced, I’m confident that many people’s devices are infected and /or the home networks compromised but they just don’t know it yet.

I found this in my iPhone’s log while messing around. Any ideas? Is this just something to do with my carrier or connection or something nasty.

iPhone logs and analytics are not designed to provide any useful information to the end user. They require special training and software to properly interpret. And "RAT" can stand for a number of different things, not all of them nefarious. Your phone is fine.

Unless, of course, it's a double-fake? Call it "RAT" because no one would think a hacker would be so stupid as to call it that......

I believe it stands for Radio Access Technology, which is all kind of necessary for cell phones.

If I were going to install a Remote Access Trojan I wouldn’t call it RAT! That would be a giveaway. I’d call it something innocuous.
