I can't print documents from my iPhone or MacBook, but I can print them from my windows PC

So I needed to print a few things and tried to print them from my MacBook Air. It continues to tell me it can't connect to the printer. I also tried it with my iPhone and get the same message, but I'm able to print from my windows computer.

Here is all the steps I've tried so far:

  1. Restarted the printer
  2. disconnected and reconnected the printer to wifi
  3. restarted my apple devices
  4. updated to the most recent software update on all devices
  5. disconnected the printer from my MacBook, but now it can't reconnect

I need this printer for both school and business. It's a brand new Epson WF4830 bought about 2 weeks ago. It worked before but for the past few days it hasn't been able to work. My MacBook Air and iPhone are both from 2023. Does anyone know how I could fix this issue? I can't seem to figure out how.

The Epson WF-4830 is supported by Apple's built-in AirPrint service when the device is networked via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. AirPrint once configured requires no vendor driver dependency and you would be able to print from your Mac or iPhone while on the same network.

As an example, and I am using macOS Sonoma 14.1 with a Samsung printer, but the principal is the same:

  1. Power on the WF 4830 and connect to your local network.
  2. Visit System Settings : Printers & Scanners panel : Printers
    1. Right-click on the WF 4830 entry and choose Reset Printing system… and click Reset on the presented dialog. This will remove the WF 4830 from the list of Printers
    2. Click the Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax… button. This will present a new dialog where Apple's Bonjour service will detect the WF 4830. Click that entry and the Use: selector will automatically configure AirPrint with the WF 4830 device name. Click Add.
    3. In the Printers panel, again right-click on the WF 4830 entry and choose Set Default Printer.
  3. Scanning would occur using Apple's Image Capture application
