Is there any data still on there you need to recover? If you do, I would call a local Apple Authorized Service Provider who can direct you to the best for data recovery for recovery. You don't want to install anything if you have data to recover, and just simply shut down the power of the Mac and disconnect it.

If you do not care about any data on the macnine and just want to restore it to the factory install of Mac OS, get a https://www.siig.com/search/JU-DK0F11-S1 or

https://www.smklink.com/products/usb-c-multi-port-hub

or similar power pass through ethernet USB-C hub, and directly hook up your Mac to the modem.

Then run internet recovery.

This will give you a Disk Utility you can reformat the hard drive APFS, and after that point install the OS that shipped with the Mac. Once that is installed use the appropriate tip to upgrade to the OS you desire to be on your Mac:

Big Sur a Migration tip - Apple Community (the minimum OS any Apple Silicon Mac can take, and only those from 2020).
