Apple added People & Places which I dislike. Now I notice there are Categories: Food, Cars, Speech, Art Dogs, etc., and I dislike it. How do I prevent this? I simply don't want it. I consider my photos/videos MY PRIVATE PROPERTY & I do not want anything labeling them.
Don't use Photos then. It's designed to work automatically, to take the chore of organisation away from the user. If you don't want that use a different application for managing your images.
What I am saying is that this is how the app works. Remember it's a give-away app. If you want more options then buy r subscribe to an app that works as you prefer. That said, the fact that a machine thinks that perhaps there's dog or a mountain in a photograph - which may or may not be accurate - is hardly an invasion of privacy. If it could tell you the dog owner's name then it might be. But if you don't give it that information then all it has is a collection of pixels that resemble a dog.
You don't. People & Places is built into photos. Where are you seeing categories? In search?
Go to Photos & on the bottom it offers library, For you, Albums & Search. Click onto Search & the Categories of your photos will appear. You can search them in that way. But some of them are labeled wrong. For example, if a car in somewhere in the photo, it is categorized as CAR. If there is 1 piece of food in the photo featuring someone, it is labeled FOOD. See what I mean?
