I deleted a large sum of photos. When will the faces in those photos go away?

I took photos as a historian for an event & now in the Album, People & Places, Add People, all those faces are accumulated. Once done with the project, I deleted all the photos. Will those faces disappear when the photos are finally deleted from my phone?

Is there a method whereby I can delete these faces?
