iCal NOT grabbing MS Exchange calendar data

It seems the most recent OS updates (Sonoma 14.x) do not allow Exchange to push calendar information to iCal (or iCal doesn't pull from Exchange).

Is there a remedy for this? It kinda renders iCal useless for any real corporate user.

I was having this same issue before upgrading to Sonoma and thought I fixed it by ensuring my default calendar was set to my exchange calendar.

I worked with Apple and my local digital team (work computer) with no success. Apple support said I should reach out to Microsoft directly.

Unfortunately, I am having the same issue with Mac OS calendar only. iOS syncs fine with exchange both ways but the Mac OS calendar is completely unreliable.

Here is another thread that talked about the issue in more depth on the previous OS. The last page was reported to still be in Sonoma as well :/

I have not made any settings changes and it appears the two are syncing this afternoon. Even one event from yesterday that was incorrect has now caught up.

I tested back and forth, adding an event in Mac OS calendar [appeared quickly in outlook]. Then deleting that event in outlook [removed quickly in Mac OS calendar].

Fingers crossed they stay in sync now!

Apple was able to license the Activesync interface to Exchange for iOS, which is the same interface Microsoft products use, so that works reasonably well.

Apple does not have an Activesync license for macOS, so has to use a different Exchange interface for third parties that is not as well supported by Microsoft and has bugs. My guess is Microsoft will not license Activesync to macOS as it competes with Windows.
