I need a recommendation for a repair shop near San Clemente, CA for my iPad screen

I bought a IPAD pro, 12.9, 5th gen, WIFI in November 2021 at $1100. The screen went black. Apple genius said is was a display issue that they don't fix. I need a repair shop near San Clemente, CA.

How odd.

If the iPad model is as described, unless your fifth generation iPad Pro has suffered significant external damage, it is definitely eligible for repair by Apple - as you will see here:

iPad Repair & Service - Apple Support

You would be best advised to visit the Genius Bar at an official Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to properly assess your iPad - and advise upon your available repair options:

Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple

For practical purposes, in lieu of repairing and returning your own iPad, Apple usually exchange the iPad for a renewed/refurbished iPad of the same model and specification. The cost of the exchange is the same as would otherwise be charged for repair. Unless you have benefit of an active AppleCare plan, an out-of-warranty repair while expensive will be somewhat less than the cost of a replacement iPad.

You can establish the likely repair cost using the link already provided.

Thank you for your response. I, too, am surprised. have owned Apple products for over 27 years & never had a problem with quality. Therefore, I did not purchase Apple Care.

There was no external damage to this IPAD. In fact, 2 weeks ago the screen went black & I called Apple support who advised me how to correct the problem. I followed instructions & the machine came alive & worked fine for 2 weeks. Yesterday, the screen simply went black & I went to the Genius Bar in Mission Veijo, CA. They tried, unsuccessfully, to correct the problem but concluded that it was a display problem. They said that Apple does not make repairs for this problem & suggestedI I find a 3rd party repair shop, or purchase a refurbish machine for $750. I asked for a repair shop reference but was told that there might be one somewhere in the mall. I'm still looking for one.
