After iOS upgrade to 16.5.1; my battery drains very quickly and iPhone gets very warm. Is there a fix for this ?

I reset iphone to default settings. This helped a little. Then I upgraded to ios 16.7.2. That seems to have fixed the overheating and battery drain issue. My phone stays charged for about 8 hours now. My battery health is at 88%. Thanks for your help and inputs!
it's also true that after a IOS update the battery drains more it should settle itself, you can check your battery health, and the settings of your iPhone, like turning off background app refresh, or limiting the number of widgets on the screens
Now you can hard reset it and leave a day before contact the Apple Support, usually it settles after big updates I had it too. Surely depends on case to case but it's worth a try
My Battery Health is 88%. I am trying a Settings -> General -> Reset iphone -> Reset all settings. I will see how this works for a couple of days to see if that helps.
Has the battery ever been replaced?
In Settings>Battery>Battery Health, what percentage is listed?

I have not had it replaced. It was working fine before this most recent upgrade. I have turned off the background upgrades and removed a number of apps. Also turned off location services.
Thanks for suggestion. I did try that yesterday. iphone is still draining quickly; drops to 50% in about 30minutes. I am pretty sure it is related to the latest update 16.5.1.
