Black cursor in Apple Notes dark mode
In Apple Notes the cursor has unfortunately again turned dark in dark mode. Dark on dark is really difficult to see so please make the cursor light again!

I am running Sonoma - but wether the English settings titles is named Preferences or System settings in Sonoma I don't no since my system language is Danish. I guessed it was System preferences. I think it's close enough for other users to understand!
You can see a screenshot of everything here - also for the ones having the same problem as me it should make better sense with this screenshot.

I found the solution. The color of the cursor (not the mouse pointer) in fx Notes and all other text fields as well is set under System Preferences -> General -> Highlight color. This color is apparently used for both highlighted text and the cursor color as well. Not very intuitiv!
The cursor color is based on the Highlight color in System Settings > Appearance. In my case, Green.

FWIW, the mouse pointer is not the cursor.
Just to add, if you found it in "System Preferences -> General -> Highlight color" then you aren't running Sonoma which is where you posted.
If so, it would be macOS 12 Monterey and below
But some people still use Preferences vs System Settings
Errors do occur though

Except in Monterey and below the cursor color doesn't change. It's white in dark mode and black in light mode.
Yes.. It's exactly where I said it was in my first post to you. 😎
Just to add, you should update to Sonoma 14.1.
