Retail .com Websites on Safari Default to Wrong Zip Code

When searching for products at large retailers - Walmart, Target, Lowes, etc - the website defaults to giving me product information at other stores, usually stores that are hundreds of miles away from my address. It is not convenient to download and open apps for each of these stores when I am looking for products in Safari. Is this a circumstance that can be fixed in Apple Settings, or is it dependent upon websites for individual retailers. Thank you.

That information is typically derived from your ISP's router locations — not your own router. There is nothing you can do about your ISP's equipment.

The exception to that would be if you are using a VPN or proxy server, which would remove even your ISP's equipment location from becoming known to the websites in question. They would still be known to the VPN but that's another story.

Some (most?) retailers offer to save a preferred store location, which would be retained as a "cookie" on your Mac.
