Message Send Failure

In both iOS 16 and 17, when I send a text message with an attachment, I get a message not sent error. It sometimes does send anyway, but not always. This happens whether it is an Apple iPhone or android I am sending to. Any solution or help would be much appreciated.

For the record, their solution did not work. Seems like I should be able to send a text message with a picture attached.

Well you need to work that out with your phone carrier, escalate it to a technician, MMS is a phone carrier feature and only they can fix it.

Not an Apple or iphone issue.

"Message Send Failure: This is not limited to Android devices. I can send a text with attachment to my wife's iPhone when she is sitting next to me, and still the same problem. Good at least to know that this is not just us.

Troubleshooting Not Receiving Notifications:

I. Blocking Getting in the Way:

A. See if you need to unblock this person in Messages:

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: Messages
  3. Scroll to: SMS/MMS
  4. Tap: Blocked Contacts
  5. If Blocked: Remove them from the list.

Also...

B. Third Party Apps Blocking Messaging:

If using a third-party app for blocking calls, perhaps you have blocked that person out.

II. Whom to Contact:

You need to take that up with your Carrier. They provide you with the service of messaging. It is not stored on your iPhone. So, contact your Carrier, seeing what is goin on. Report back what they say.

III. Report this to Apple:

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of your occurrence, if you did not report it to them.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update. Include the URL of this thead.
  4. Proceed from there as necessary

Sending a Message to an Android Device from your iPhone:

Report this to Apple...

What you are reporting is a commonly mentioned issue on these forums. Question is: "Just how many people have actually reported this to Apple?"

So, do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of this, if you don't report it to them.

"Message Send Failure: I did that once this first started before I bothered coming here. The hope was that: 1) I would find out if others are having this problem 2)See if anyone had a solution.

Many have the same issue. There is no known solution that I have ever come across.
