Norton vs Apple Backup

Norton says I cannot backup my MacBook Pro with them and that Apple is the problem.

Is this so? Should I be cross with Norton or Apple?

There are many other companies that offer cloud backup for Macs.

I use Time Machine for local backups. I sync my Photos to iCloud Photos (and keep a local copy).

I also use Carbonite for online backup. No issues. There are several other good cloud backup services.

And I would never install a Norton product of any kind on any of my devices.
