Vertical Screen Strip with Green and Pink Lines - Macbook Air M2
My new MacBook Air M2 15" has a vertical stripe on the screen [Approximately 1/10 of the screen, in the left corner] with thin green and pink lines that blink.
Video demonstrating the problem
They do not appear all the time, but notably when there is color (meaning pure white, black or gray are normal) projection in the region.
The problem started to appear after I used OBS Studio + ElGato CamLink 4k + Canon SL3 to record my online course.
Although OBS did not show high CPU usage during recording, my thesis is that there was an increase in temperature that damaged some component.
This is the second device on which this has happened, under the same conditions. In the first device, the manifestation began with alternating white/gray horizontal lines (although still with color).
This went away after a few weeks, and after a few more, the screen started showing green lines. After a few months, the screen turned off 100%.
The questions are:
1) Is there a way to solve it without going through repairs?
2) Could overheating have been the root of the problem?
3) Does the warranty cover this repair?
It's frustrating to lose two devices to something that shouldn't happen.
