airpod max buttons and sound not working

Bought these head phones under a month ago and all of a sudden, they will say they are connected to my iphone but the sound nor the buttons will function. The only way I could fix it was repeatedly resetting them for almost 30 mins but then the problem starts again the next day. I tried to work with apple support but they said the only thing I could do was take them to a genius bar which is out of the question for me for the next few months

My AirPod max headphone will not connect to anything. All my devices see it but do not connect. Cannot reset either. Since I bought this device, I have had connection problems. They are fully charged all the time. I've restarted and reset them several times. At first they were bad connections. Up and down all the time.
