Storage issue on new IMac

I have a new (5\23)iMac desktop Mac OS Sonoma 14.1 and have no storage left after deleting all my photos, docs and even GarageBand app to make room. There is absolutely no room. I have Photoshop and Lightroom but not sure if that’s on my computer or iCloud. Im confused with this new computer and I don’t know if iCloud is part of the problem. I need help

iMac 24″, macOS 14.1

That's a message telling you that the default command-line interpreter is now a program called zsh. In older versions of macOS / Mac OS X, the default command-line interpreter was bash.

Aside: bash stands for Bourne Again shell, a takeoff on the name of that shell's original author. The term shell in Unix and Linux systems means "command line interpreter."

My understanding is that Apple failed to keep up with the latest versions of bash, and eventually switched the default shell to zsh rather than shipping a more current bash. The current bash is 5.2, but under Ventura 13.1, bash --version returns "version 3.2.57(1)", which is quite old.

About 180 GB available! Yep :).

It kept getting worse something was not right. I couldn’t even open a new folder! thank you! thank you! thank you, for share for your expertise, your time and patience :). I was ready to bring it to a local Apple support store by me, and I even talked to them on the phone today and they knew everything bc I emailed them with all the info. ….It was a simple fix, once we knew what it was. So annoyed with this guy on the phone, he probably knew what the problem was.

I really can’t thank you enough !!
