iPhone 15 and transferring air tags

I had AirTags attached to my iPhone 12 and recently upgraded to the 15. The new handset thinks the AirTags are following me when in fact they are mine. I can’t add them, have tried resetting, taking out the batteries etc but still not able to

connecy them. They appear as though they belong to someone else, even though they are associated with my number.
