Mail days to sync

Is there a reason that apple iPhones only allow options to sync email from only a few days, to one month and then it’s no limit. It would be nice to be able to save two or three months, without having to jump to no limit, which takes up too much room.

same with messages… It should allow you to save more options, before going to no limit.

any other options that I’m not aware of? Thanks!
