SE2020 was discontinued in March 2022, so if it really is "new" it has been sitting in a warehouse somewhere for at least 6-7 months. This would not be good for the battery at all.
Appears that Verizon has now extended all contracts to 36 months, so you should plan to use Verizon for quite awhile before you will be eligible to have the phone unlocked so that you can switch over to AT&T.

Hello Ron7777, Probably not. If the iPhone is LOCKED to Verizon you won't be able to use it with AT&T. If the iPhone is not LOCKED to Verizon then yes for using with AT&T. The only way to know for sure is to ask Verizon.
Ron7777, Yes I believe it will fit but if you want 5G service on the new iPhone you will need an updated Sim from the carrier. Check with the carrier.
