I have followed the instructions and have got back to erasing contents. Then the 'Hello' page appears and I am being asked to set up manually. Should I do so then go back and try to get back to factory settings again. Not sure how to sign out of ICloud on my new phone so that I don't delete information from it. Thanks

You shouldn't need to sign out of iCloud on your new phone.
Are you trying to factory reset your old phone so you can sell it/ return it for credit?

The phone would NOT display the "hello" message unless it has been completely erased and reset to factory default settings.
Another way to say the same thing.....if any data remained on the phone, it would never display the "hello" 'screen.
Hi Lyssa, many thanks for replying. I was trying to factory reset my old phone so I could sell it. I followed the steps as listed and I even set it up manually again so I could go back through the steps. It still comes up with the Hello page as if I was trying to set it up again. I don't know therefore if I have erased all my contents or not.
