Dropped iPad Air.

It worked for a while, though with a broken backlight. Now it just won’t turn on at all, even when I press the top and home button.

I often see a dropped device continue to work for a while. Eventually, whatever was broken in the drop causes the iPad/iPhone to stop working.


You can try the steps here: If your iPad won't turn on or is frozen - Apple Support


If that doesn't help, you can make an appointment at an Apple store so they can evaluate the iPad and let you know what your repair/replacement options are.

As described, having dropped your iPad, it will almost certainly have suffered hidden internal damage.


You would be best advised to visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to test and assess your iPad - and you can explore your available options:
