MacBook Air 2018 not holding charge

MacBook Air 2018 losing battery while shut down. Was charged to 97% on 11/4 then shut down, was turned back on again on 11/6 and the battery was at 37%. I'm not sure what to do and apple support isn't doing much to help the problem.

Have tried:

SMC reset

Diagnostic - no issues found

Turned bluetooth off

Checked activity monitor - no significant usage

The battery, a consumable, is five years old and it certainly may have reached end of life. Or close to it.

When a battery no longer does as it's intended to, it's time to replace it. All batteries age and some age out faster than others.

What's the remaining capacity? When that drops to 80%, Apple advises you replace the battery. But that does not preclude the need to replace it sooner based on performance issues.

I figured that was the problem, I don't mind having the battery replaced, it's what I was trying to do when contacting apple but apple is content on not changing it because the battery health says normal. I looked for the maximum capacity and it's not telling me that. I looked on my new MacBook to see if I was looking in the wrong spot but the new one says it, the old one doesn't. It tells me the full charge capacity (mAh) is 3868.
