Printing out recovery key locks up system settings. How to prevent this?

System Settings locks up after printing out Recovery Key once generated. I have to force quit System Settings

and reopen to unlock it. This also happens when changing the Recovery Key. In either case, I cannot determine if the recovery key was generated or changed. It does not lock up if I write down the recovery key instead of printing it. Is there a solution to this? Also, how do I determine what may recovery key actually is?

I have the same problem when I print the recovery key with the print dialogue to the left. Afterwards there is a small window filled with the same dark color to the right with nothing in it having the focus and I can only force quit the system settings process as neither print cancel or continue dialogue button works.
