Iphone 15 - Format Error0 04 6982

My new iPhone 15 has started throwing up screens with messages “Format Error0 04 6982” or “Format Error0 05 6982” with two options: “Cancel” and “Accept”. The screen disappears when you click either option. My iOS is fully updated to 17.1.

Any hints on dealing with this error message are welcome!

I keep getting “ an error occurred downloading iOS 15.7” I keep getting “ an error occurred downloading iOS 15.7” Phone is plugged into power and connected to Wifi. I have deleted all recent files to free up space. I am at a loss to figure out how to determine what the error is and how to fix it. Help.. [Re-Titled by Moderator]
