iCloud not downloading files on M1 Macbook air after updating to Sonoma

When Sonoma came out, I updated the OS immediately. After the update, none of my files in iCloud got saved and I can't download them back. All of my projects, over 100GB of code gone. In moments like this I'm grateful that Git version control exists.

So far I've tried:

• Trying to download all of my iCloud folders at once. It keeps on loading and loading until it stops and nothing happens.
• Downloading every single child file and folder from my iCloud directory. Again the same, just keeps loading and nothing gets downloaded locally.
• Disabling iCloud on my Mac and creating an archive. I've chosen the "keep archive" option when proceeding, but again nothing happens. It's loading forever. The loading bar progress doesn't move from it's initial state.

I have the same issue on my iPhones (12 and 14 pro) - none of the files can be downloaded, and they're empty.

Interesting enough, all of the directory structures are correct - both on my Mac and iPhones. It seems as if the files and folders exist. The problem is that they are all empty. And downloading from iCloud isn't actually downloading anything.

I noticed that when I delete a folder from iCloud, it never gets deleted too. I've tried dumping all of the corrupted projects and downloading a fresh copy from Github, but the old ones can't be erased - again, loading forever. Now I can't get rid of the unnecessary data and I can't download it either. Nice!

This is the first time ever that I have issues with an Apple product. When I updated to Ventura, I had no problems whatsoever. It seems like Sonoma completely broke my iCloud as it fails to sync my files on all of my devices. Very non-apple like! Can I get some assistance?
