Trying to remotely erase a device but I can't see it on iCloud device list.

Im trying to remotely erase my device but I can't see it on the list of all devices in my icloud acc. The device died while FMI while was still on, how and when it was switched off I honestly don't know but now I wanna sell the dead phone to someone whom i think wants to repair it and im having problems erasing it remotely cos of it not showing on my device list. Oddly enough on my iphone it shows the device as present on the list but there is no option to erase it. When I use a pc to log onto my icloud acc said device isn't present on list of devices. Any suggestions?

OK. so we've established that iCloud / Find My online is not working for you in erasing the damaged device.

"Re: Oddly enough on my iphone it shows the device as present on the list but there is no option to erase it".

Wondering where are you seeing the device listed on that iPhone :

If you see it in Find My on that iPhone, you could erase it there:

To erase a device in Find My

In Find My, choose Devices.

Select your lost device.

Scroll down and choose Erase This Device.

Select Erase This [device].

Re: "Erase device"

Wondering if Apple support's online article (link below) may be helpful:

What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Eg: says:

"If you're using iCloud and Find My [device] on the device, sign in to iCloud.com/find or the Find My app on another device, select the device, and click Erase. After the device has been erased, click Remove from Account".

Thank you kindly for your wonderful patience, and perseverance!

If you want to put the issue to rest, well and good.

It would be a good idea to at least change your Apple ID password though.

Seems there is one other method of erasing a phone remotely.

Since you do see the old phone in your other phone's settings:

Wondering if you may have an opportunity to erase with iCloud's "Find devices",

The link you gave me is the same as the one I went into yesterday, tried it out thinking it would lead me to a different site. But the problem still stands, on that very same link the device doesn't show. I don't know what it is I'm doing wrong honestly. Could it be it was jailbroken maybe and erased somehow?? Cos like I said the device went into the repair shop with FMI still on I NEVER switched it off but now it shows as off. I don't think logging into another device automatically turned the other one off? The bank cards linked on the broken device still pop up. IM SERIOUSLY CONFUSED NOW

No its not on the find my app. When you go to settings on an iphone at the very top there's you (as owner of device) when you click there's options there. At the bottom there's a "show all" option and when you click it lists devices connected to that icloud account and also shows bank cards. That's where the device is present. I think it suffice to say I've failed, I should put the issue to rest cos wow!
