Trying to restore deleted text messages on iPhone 12 mini top left corner is not showing a recently deleted message to tap on

Tap to open Messages
Tap on Edit in the upper left corner of the screen
Tap on Show Recently Deleted
If Show Recently Deleted does not even appear, there are no messages that have been deleted in the last 30 days. So, what you are looking for is already gone.
