Why is Logic Pro X 10.8 update not showing up in the App Store?

Logic 10.8 has been released but the App Store doesn't show there is an update available. I'm running Sonoma 14.7.

I had Logic 10.7.x installed, Just installed Sonoma on a Mac Studio. I still encountered the same problem as the OP. It said OPEN even though I had the older logic installed. CLICK ON THE APP NAME instead of OPEN, it opened a new page with the UPDATE option. Hope this helps someone!!

  1. Open the App Store
  2. Search for Logic Pro
  3. It should be the first hit
  4. There are a couple of for the button next the Logic Pro:
    1. "Open" - Launches Logic Pro. This means you probably already have Logic Pro 10.8 installed.
    2. "Update" - Select to update your currently installed version of Logic Pro
    3. "Get" - Logic Pro is not installed on your computer. This can happen if you manually copied it from a different computer and/or are not logged into the same Apple ID which was used to buy Logic Pro originally.

The only other option is that you do not have macOS Ventura 13.5 or later or macOS Sonoma installed. Select Apple => About This Mac and you can see your current version of macOS at the bottom of the dialog.

This should solve your update problems.

New version system requirement is met by my hardware as far as the RAM and processor goes. However my OS is still 11.7.4. When I try to update it shows something on version 12.x.x. The logic pro x 10.8 is available for OS 13.5 and above. If I update my OS to 12.x.x first will it allow my to go up to 13.5? It's intell j7 on 1GB, 2016 mac book pro

Thanks
