Have Logic Pro 10.7.9 installed. Want to upgrade to 10.8, but that version doesn't show in the App Store for me

I open the store, and click on "Updates" on the left sidebar.

The main section shows this message: "No Updates. All your apps are up to date."

How can this be? When I ask Logic Pro what version it is, I see 10.7.9.

Version 10.8 is out...everybody's talking about it.

What do I need to do to get the App Store to work properly?

Sometimes it takes a while for the App store to show an update, and today will probably be a very busy day on Apples servers as probably millions of people will be syncing their new Christmas devices. Try logging out of the app store and then log back in and see if the update shows up. If that doesn't work. Save Logic to an external drive (optional). Then Delete Logic in the application folder. , restart your mac and then go to the app store, go to your account and look at your purchases and see if the newer version is available. If it's still the old version, you can just copy the Logic on your external drive back to your Application folder to use until your update shows up.

Hmmmm. Try this.

First empty your trash.

Then delete your 10.7.9 Logic Pro App. But do not empty the trash. ****

Now goto the App store, your profile and look at your purchases to find Logic Pro. Don't click on the app. Click on Download. It should now say Download instead of Open because Logic is no longer in your Application Folder. It should now download the latest version if you have Sonoma.

**** By moving (the old version) ofLogic out of the Application Folder, the App Store will (or should) offer you the latest version.

Keep us posted if it worked for you
