Looking for HP Color Laserjet 1600 printer driver for macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 or macOS Monterey 12.6.3

I have HP Color laserjet 1600 printer driver for Macbook air and MacBook Pro. HP customer service said this printer is no longer compatible with windows nor Macbooks.

I downloaded HP Firmware for MacOS 10.12 from HP just to see if it works but it doesn't work.

Is there way to connect this printer to these two MacBooks: macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 or macOS Monterey 12.6.3?

Hi,

The HP Color LaserJet 1600 does not appear to have drivers for Mac.

You could perhaps carry out an experiment with an HP Color LaserJet 2600 driver (1.6.1) from the HP 5.1.1 Printer Software Update from Apple instead.

The System Requirements say macOS 10.14 and Not compatible with macOS v12 and newer for the package, but there have been a few reports (about other printer models) indicating that the download may work with some operating system versions even outside this range. However, as mentioned, this is experimental, so it may or may not work with your computers.

It could be a good idea to reset the printing system between tests.

As always, make sure that you have backup copies of all important files before testing anything. Software conflicts cannot be ruled out.
