Click twice on mac icon in dock to minimize it

Hello

On windows it works like this:

Click once on an icon in the dock: Opens application

Click again: Minimize application

On mac it works like this:

Click once on an icon in the dock: Opens application

Click again: Nothing happens

What is the logic?

And is there a setting to change it?

Well said! I understand why people using their Macs to browse the internet for their next tweed jacket or to watch cat videos on YouTube wouldn't find the need for this functionality. But there are a million reasons why you would need to quickly switch between windows in a working environment, and Microsoft's solution to this is simply more efficient.

1000%!

Sometimes you just want to pull open a window quickly to check something and then close it to go to another window. On my mac, I have to go to the bottom and click the window, then move my mouse all the way to the top of the window to close it, then back down to the bottom to re-open another window. This is so inefficient.

Apple, you need to fix this. Either allow us an option to minimize by clicking the app in the dock a second time, or change it to double-clicking the bottom bar of the window to minimize.

There are so many ways to make this better.
