Apple Watch won't connect to WiFi at any gym-?!?

It's an Apple Watch SE Cellular, Series 8 I believe, yes updated to whatever latest OS.

I go to various LA Fitness locations, same problem at all of them.
The watch will never connect to WiFi ("...cannot be joined"). There is often no cell signal = I can't stream music* which is really irritating.
I do not take iPhone inside with me.
The Watch is freshly booted each time.
I suspect the problem may be the networks are unsecured?

Anyway how can I forcibly connect to stream music?!?

*yes I have some downloaded but sometimes I want to stream something else. Or maybe message somebody.

First, you either have a SE watch or a series 8 watch. It can't be both. See:

Actually, I might suspect the networks (even if they are Guest) could be secured and need a password. Or another possibility is that the LA Fitness networks are 5GHz and the watch can only connect to a 2.4GHz WI-FI network. Apple Watch Series 5 and earlier, and Apple Watch SE, can connect only to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. For other possibilities see the 'Choose a Wi-Fi network' section in:
