Not getting notifications on iPhone when I'm using my MacBook Pro?

This is so incredibly frustrating, but I'm not getting any notifications on my phone while I'm on my MacBook Pro. I'm not COMPLETELY sure about this, but I feel like when I first got my laptop, I was asked if I wanted my phone and laptop synced. I'm not sure if it was from Apple or Chrome or what, but I feel like there was some kind of question like that... Maybe there are settings about that I could change?

I've checked all the settings on my phone. All of my notification settings on my phone are set to always notify / immediately. But I'll get calls, gmail chats and text messages throughout the day, and I don't receive them until I physically pick up my phone and unlock it. Then I get a million notifications all at once - some from HOURS ago if I haven't looked at my phone. Does anyone know how to fix this? It seems to only happen while I am actively using my MacBook. I've included some images so you can see the settings for calls, gmail chats and text messages. Thanks so much for taking the time to read! Please help! It's driving me nuts lol.
