How can I unlock iPhone from Verizon?
bought this off a brother need to switch carriers he had Verizon last and does now for his new phone. He kept his number so would need to change that too

Well, hopefully the brother kept his account up to date at Verizon, because that is who you will need to contact if you want to have them release the carrier lock on the phone so you can get set up with another carrier.
Only the carrier can unlock the phone, and that would be Verizon. However, they may be under no obligation to unlock the phone. You may need to get the brother involved in the unlock request.
Once the phone is unlocked, you can contact another carrier that you would like to use.
