Retrieving missing music from iCloud backup on iPhone 14 and iPad Since Apple stopped backing up music to iCloud my library has gone from 4000 ish tunes from years and years to around 500. How to back up downloaded music not purchased from Apple My downloaded music plays on my phone, but does not appear to be backed up. Only purchased music shows as backed on iCloud.

iTunes device backups do not include media. That should always be kept on at least one computer and backed up to an external drive for security.
