can not open .pptx file

on my mac book pro I installed macOS Monterey version 12.7.1 I am a teacher and have a lot of .pptx files for teaching that will not open.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 12.7

A pptx file is a microsoft powerpoint file. So you must install microsoft powerpoint. So go to the App Store and install powerpoint. If you got a message "you'll. need macOS 13 or higher to run powerpoint". have you downloaded powerpoint before? Then you can download the latest version that will run from your Mac from your purchase history


You can also try and download the app keynote to open this kind of files
