Lots of Live TV streaming platforms use for distribution 1080/50i or 60i. (Canal +, Skylink, UEFA Champions League,ect.) Exist any chance how Play this stream on Apple TV in this matic format without progessive artefacts in picture?
The Apple TV box will only output progressive scan. If you want interlaced output, then Apple TV is not the device for you.
Streaming apps should account for that, and bring progressive scan for input as well.
Digital screens like LCD, OLED, or even plasma, display as progressive anyway, so a conversion has to be done before output. The use of 1080i instead of 1080p in 2023 is just saving on (cable) bandwidth and picture quality. All IPTV should be progressive, even if converted from interlaced. If that conversion is done before it reaches you for network input, then you can’t prevent artifacts anyway as it is in the ‘source’.
