If I cancel apple music - but have downloaded my "purchased" music library, will I still have that on my MacBook Pro available?

I have apple music, the music libraries have synced between my phone and macbook - Do I need to download my music to my macbook in order to keep them if I cancel apple music?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.6

If you cancel your subscription to Apple Music any content that is currently in the cloud, or has been downloaded but has DRM protection because it comes from the Apple Music service, will disappear from your library or stop working. Downloaded content free of DRM should remain. Your purchases also remain available in the cloud. Ideally your would download all relevant content to your computer and backup before terminating your subscription.

So, I am trying to "move" all MY music between my MacBook (new to me; 2021 16"), iphone, and iMac--- The music is ALL music that I have copied from CD (years ago) or purchased. The only way I was able to see to do that was to get Apple Music Subscrription to sync. I don't need the subscription. But want all MY music availalbe on my devices. I thought this would be the best easiest way, but apparently might not be?
