Apple studio display

I am planning on attaching an external webcam to my Apple Studio display for conference calling. The display is connected to my MB Pro. Can I plug the webcam directly into one of the ports on the back of the studio display? Meaning do I need to have another separate cable connecting the webcam to my laptop or will the cable connecting the laptop to the Studio display be the only connection between the two I will need in order to use the external webcam instead of the studio monitor built in cam?

Connect the display to the compter with a Thunderbolt cable (Lightning Bolt icon on the plugs). Any USB devices plugged into the non-Thunderbolt USB-C ports on the back of the display will connect to the computer with no extra cables needed.
