Can't access External passport drives Sonoma

Hello,

I recently upgraded to Sonoma on Mac Studio (MJMV3LL/A) and I have 2 passport drives formatted to APFS.

Since that upgraded, I can't access them. Permissions show as read only.

I tried to run a command that found in another post: ls -dle /Volumes/backups

"backups" is the name of one of those drives. When I try to run the command I get a deny as shown in the screenshot below.

I tried going to a SU level, but when I put in my login password (administrator acct).

So my questions are:

  1. What can I do to solve the passport issue?
  2. Am using the wrong command to go from basic to admin level?
  3. If my login password is not working how do I find out what the SU password is?

Thanks,

Carl
