Doc connecting monitor and MacBook not working

I have a dock which is expensive and high quality. I b ought to connect my MacBook Air 2019 to my monitor and it works all good. It also connects to power and keyboard and mouse. Recently we bought a new MacBook Air 2023. It does connect mouse and keyboard etc but the monitor is tricky. It sometimes connects. When I disconnect the dock capable from the mac and reconnect it doesn’t. The other mac is perfectly fine and anytime I reconnect and disconnect it is fine. It takes lots of trial again sometimes hours for the other mac to get connected to monitor. It is highly frustrating and it seems a software issue is happening creating comparability between the dock from 2019 and the MacBook 2023. The it colleague of mine updated the dock software and said it works but when I disconnected dock and max with the cable and used my other mac which is perfectly fine and then connected the new mac to the doc again the monitor says: no signal detected.

this has been going on for half a year and such a shame my mac is useless for this please help and thank you

I think you need to supply more details.

  • What monitor?
  • What dock?
  • How is the monitor connected to the dock?
  • Are you trying to use one external monitor, or two?

Dock is: CalDigit TS4 Thunderbolt 4 Dock

Monitor: iiyama 2018.

Connected via Display port cable.

I use one external monitor.

I connect my MacBook Air 2019, it is all fine.

The problem is with MacBook Air 2023. Sometimes it connects. as soon as you disconnect and connect the MacBook Air 2019, and then reconnect MacBook Air 2023, it doesn't.... but you connect MacBook Air 2019 again and it works seamlessly.

Why?

My workplace said it is due to updating Dock drive. they did once and he said it works. but I brought my MacBook 2019 and the same problem happened as I said above.

Why this new Mac has problem with this dock. both r great products.
