Unexpected Instagram Login Issue: Acquiring a Used iPhone, Data Wiped and OS Reinstalled

I purchased a pre-owned iPhone and proceeded to erase all the data, followed by reinstalling the operating system. However, upon downloading Instagram using my Apple ID, the iPhone automatically logged into the previous owner's Instagram account

My Apple ID password doesn't work on my iPhone I was trying to get Instagram Threads on my iPhone 6s but my Apple ID sign-in failed although it still works on this MacBook Air. I don't want to have to change my password as that is "an accident waiting to happen". Is there any illumination for this dark place.
