drop down menus constantly appearing macbook air sonoma

constantly getting unwanted dropdown menus when I click- doesn't seem to matter where onmy touchpad I click or how many fingers i am using or one or both hands. making me nuts.

Constant drop down menus I am constantly getting drop down menus when I am on my MAC. If I click a link on a page, I get a drop down menu. It takes constant clicking -- going off the page and clicking -- and if I'm lucky, it eventually goes away and I can go ahead and click the link I was wanting. This has just started in the last year or so. It's getting worse and worse. I've tried the suggestions regarding Preferences, Accessibility, etc. None of that works. Any ideas?
