Contact Photos not Showing in ‘Messages’ App in MacOS Sonoma

So this might be something posted elsewhere too.. if so I apologise in advance for the double up.

Contact Photos are only showing up for limited contacts on Mac OS Sonoma “Messages” app.

On my iPhone (iOS 17.1.1) all my pinned contacts have photos assigned, when I move over to my MacBook Pro 2023 (16”) running Sonoma, the contacts just show with Grey Initials “AB” “LE” etc when looking for their images in Mac Messages ( i.e. no photos).

I have tried a fee steps such as toggling / removing my contacts and messages from my MBP , and also created “Test” contacts using iCloud on the web…

It would Appear that MacOS Sonoma isn't sync’ing my contacts as it should (and is) with my iPhone.

I only use iCloud to sync contacts, and I’ve also learned that some messages (iMessages) only appear on my iPhone and others are missing in Messages for Mac.

Is there a fix for syncing contact Photos & Messages between the cloud, my iPhone to keep my Mac up to date?

Thanks 👍🏼
