I now know what it is.

if you charge your phone on an evening and it’s on the edge of the phone. The alarm won’t go off. You have to lay your phone FLAT on its back. It will work as it did before.

It’s happening with mine too, I had to download a separate app for my alarm clock

Same issue with new iPhone 15. I’ve tried deleting & recreating alarms, changing the sound & volue, and rebooting. It will work when I test it out awake, but never in the morning when I rely on it. When I look at the phone it appears as if the alarm is going off (see snooze & off buttons) but there is no sound. I use a sleep schedule (so certain people don’t wake me up with texts) and had to re-enable alarms within it, that didn’t work. Today I deleted the sleep schedule altogether and tried disabling the standby feature so we’ll see what happens tomorrow morning.

Dude it’s so bad, I work at 5 am, and I felt stupid having to explain to me boss that I genuinely set my alarm and it didn’t go off. It’s happened a few times actually. It got to the point where I just set a 7 hour timer for when I need to wake up, seems to always work that way

I have the 14 and ever since the last update none of my alarms will go off unless and i’m babysitting the app. Not even my timers go off. And i use and abuse the snooze feature and if my alarm does go off it won’t snooze and go off 9 minutes later like before. whatever they did they need to undo it.

Beware: there are lots of fixes shown here and many will work...for a while. The software problem is insidious and will come back in a week or so. If it is like mine it will start by missing occasionally or only play one "note" for a week or so before stopping completely. Very random.

I have an iphone 14 and have been dealing with this issue since summer 2023. I have 4 alarms set on my phone for the morning and they will randomly not go off, and its usually linked to a new update coming out. Every time theres a new update becomes available, my alarms become intermittent and just won’t go off once a week or so. Its never consistent. I’m so freaking frustrated because I am trying to get a job at my kids school and my kids have been late by a half hour 16 times this year because of this issue!!! Not to mention that once my son starts to take the bus, this will create a whole new issue because I can’t drive!!! Get this fricking fixed apple!!

My new iPhone 15 has the same issue. The alarm is “alarming “ or going off, etc and the phone makes no sound. However if i set a timer or a manual alarm to test it, then it makes sound. Luckily I’ve also got the watch and that vibrates, so I’ve not overslept too bad, but why would a company design a watch and a phone with alarms nobody can HEAR?

i tried the Apple support a couple of times and that was a ridiculous experience, the first thing they wanted me to do was to reset my phone.

I am having the exact same issue. I'm staring at the alarm going off and no sound. All volumes are up both on ringer and in Sounds and Haptics, I've already hard reset my phone 5 times. When I hold it up to my ear, I hear the faintest ring of the alarm but it doesn't last the entire time the ring is going off. I deleted the Clock app and reinstalled. When I tried to set a new alarm, it said "Sleep is now managed through the Health app" and then forced me to go in there and wanted to me to set up a sleep schedule. I don't need any of this fancy stuff. Just give me my d**n alarm! Any suggestions for a good SIMPLE alarm app?

Whenever I attempt to set one, it doesn't show up in the app. I contacted Apple support, and they advised me to wait for an update. This is quite embarrassing for Apple."

Same thing happened to me. The alarm was literally open on my screen but making no noise. I checked the settings and there’s a tune selected and it’s at full volume. (15PM)

The same thing with my phone my alarm screen goes on but there is no noise whatsoever what am I supposed to do or how do I fix this is frustrating

Beware, fixes only work for a limited time before the problem starts again. Many "fixes" work temporarily but this is on-going software problem. Apple is aware and says they are trying to fix it.
